Drama Recommendations

Recently, I found myself watching a crap ton of dramas so I thought I’d tell you guys what I’m watching and about some of my beloved dramas :blush:

(I may or may not have stolen half of these descriptions from Wikipedia or dramafever :sweat_smile:)

I’m not really gonna explain what each drama is about because I don’t wanna give them away so I’ll just list the main characters and give a little description :blush:

FINISHED

I haven’t finished that much (I’ll explain later down) but I can say that out of the few dramas I’ve watch, I highly recommend these:

THE LOVER

The Lover is about the lives of four couples who live in an apartment building. (Tht description sucks but anything more would give it away)

HEIRS

The series follows a group of rich, privileged, and elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families’ business empires, overcoming difficulties and growing every step of the way.

REPLY 1988

It is a drama set in the year 1988 about five friends and their families living in the same neighborhood of Ssangmun-dong. Inspired by MBC’s Three Families Under One Roof (1986), Reply 1988 is the third installment of tvN’s Reply series.

ONGOING

CANDLE IN THE TOMB

Candle in the Tomb Chinese drama based on the novel Ghost Blows Out the Light It tells the story of of a gang of tomb raiders as they go on adventures and unearth the truth behind a mysterious curse

GOBLIN

Kim Shin is an immortal goblin and protector of souls. He lives with a grim reaper who is in charge of taking deceased souls. Together, they see the dead off into the afterlife. One day Kim Shin meets a girl, Ji Eun-tak, who has a special ability to see ghosts, and is destined to be his bride and return him to ashes.

THE PRINCESS WEIYOUNG

The Princess Weiyoung Chinese historical drama. It is adapted from the novel The Poisonous Daughter by Qin Jian. There was a princess named Xin’er who was loved by all. A marshal from the Chiyun clan of Northern Wei takes it upon himself to overrun Northern Liang and turn it into a bloodbath, forcing the princess out of her comfortable life.

Li Weiyoung, the daughter of the Prime Minister of Northern Wei, shielded Weiyoung from harm. However, Weiyoung dies protecting Xin’er, and the latter assumes Weiyoung’s identity to reside in her home, where she is disliked and shunned. She thus took it upon herself to fight against the Chiyun clan and unexpectedly became entangled with Northern Wei’s prince, Tuoba Jun.

LET’S DRINK (DRINKING SOLO)

This drama is about the daily activities around the teachers, students, staffs of a private institution that prepares for civil service exam around the area of Seoul’s Noryangjin. The characters like to drink alone after work for their own reasons. The story also depicts the romance between Jin Jung-suk and Park Ha-na.

DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN

This story tells of doctors stationed in the fictional war zone of Urk (Uruk), and follows the love story that develops between a surgeon (Kang Mo-yeon) and a special forces officer, (Yoo Shi-Jin).

TO WATCH

1% OF SOMETHING

In order to get his grandfather’s full inheritance money, a spoiled heir must live with a strong-willed elementary school teacher for six months.

MY WIFE’S HAVING AN AFFAIR

THIS WEEK

A television PD finds a hotel reservation on his wife’s phone and takes to the internet community to help him find out if she is in fact having an affair.

DRAMAS I CANT BEAR TO FINISH

With these dramas, I got so invested in them that I got to a point where I just didn’t want to finish. I know how they end but I just don’t want to finish :sweat_smile: (this actually happens with most dramas I watch. The only reason I only finished them because I got to the last episode without realising it)

SUBSTITUTE PRINCESS

The classic ugly duckling story of a dorky sweetheart who ends up switching identities with a glamorous heiress, and finds herself in a romantic tug-of-war between two men!

MY LOVE FROM THE STARS

Do Min Joon first arrived on earth 400 years ago, but in order to protect a girl he met, he missed his chance to return to his home planet. Centuries later, he is still living in Korea and working as a professor, the latest of many identities he’s taken on through the years. All is quiet and well for him until top actress Chun Song Yi moves in next door and comes barging into his life. The two begin to fall in love despite themselves but Do Min Joon’s days on earth are numbered.

BOYS OVER FLOWERS

Geum Jan Di is an ordinary girl whose family owns a dry cleaning store. While delivering dry cleaning to a student at the prestigious Shin Hwa High School, she saves his life by stopping his attempt at jumping off the roof and is given a full swimming scholarship. She attends Shin Hwa High and soon is terrorised by the leader of F4, Gu Jun Pyo. Although Jun Pyo bullies her, he begins to find himself attracted to Jan Di. However, Jan Di has a crush on Yoon Ji Hoo, Jun Pyo’s best friend. When she realises that Ji Hoo is merely a close friend and that she really loves Jun Pyo the couple are thrown into a dilemma as Jun Pyo’s mother sets out to break them up and find a more suitable match for her son.
